Riassunto di ieri fatto da Astore (in coppia con me, unico ITAF presente):
CAS mission took over by ITAF_Febaba & me with Hs-129 and 6S_Gheppio with Stuka.
Targets: Tanks behind our lines and engineering platons
At take off we divided in two section with Gheppio heading for the southern area of the target serching for the engineering units and Febaba & me looking for the tanks.
Gheppio soon reach his target and succeded in destroying a couple of targets, then after having spent all his ammo's, he headed for home base where he landed safely.
In the meanwhile we (Febaba & me) were circling over the area where we supposed one of the target (M-3 Stuart) should be and after more than half an hour Febaba spot a target and attacked it; he made some firing passages onto the target and destroyed it.
We flew over the target some times to trying to identify it surely as it was partially hidden between trees but while doing so I was attacked by an enemy fighter which made a couple of passages against me and then fly away (I informed of that AMVI fighters but they were too far away).
As we waste a lot of time looking for the Stuart we decided to go for the southern part of the area where we could find more targets and we hit a couple of them but Febaba crashed and I was subsequentely attacked by another enemy fighter and I crashed trying an emergency landing with my engines lost.
Now, after a control of the stat's, it results that Gheppio destroyed an engineering platoon and an infantry one (so he accomplished his task), Febaba hit a Willis MB (and not a Stuart) and I destroyed an artillery position (not our primary target).
Conclusion: Gheppio apart, we missed our primary targets and we lost 2 planes over 3............ too bad, we surely have to improve ..
